Classic Horror

I chose Classic Horror because I watch a lot of Horror movies that came out recently such as hereditary, IT, and a quiet place. I have watched children of the corn but I want to watch older movies than that one.

The Night Of The Hunter

The Night Of The Hunter is a action packed and scary movie. It starts off with two men, harry and ben, that go to jail for different reasons. The two men slept on bunk beds in the same cell and talked about their lives. One man knowing he was going to die told the other guy every secret about himself. As the movie goes on I noticed there is a lot of background music. When there is a lot of suspense there is normally some scary background music playing. Whenever there are happy moments, happy music plays. In my opinion the movie was really good there was never any parts when i was bored. The whole movie is based around two kids John and Pearl. They are running away from Harry their step father because he’s trying to kill them to get the $10,000 that their dad Ben left behind with them. John and Pearl found a nearby boat that was their uncles. They got in the boat and sat for a very long time. Eventually they found a barn and they pulled the boat to shore and Pearl went straight to sleep when they got to the barn. As John was gazzing off into the distance he noticed a man that sang just like Harry and was on a horse. He soon had a realization and knew that they had to get back on the boat and keep going. The clips as they were going down the stream on their boat were very cool because you can see from the sky that it changes from night to day a few times throughout their whole trip. And right when they wake up on shore on their boat a woman is standing there yelling at them and telling them what to do. This lady’s name was Rachel and she watched over 5 children total including Pearl and John. She treated them as her own. Taught them manners, Taught them some educational things and showed John how to be a true gentlemen. In the beginning of the movie when John and Pearls dad was getting arrested he told John to always take care of Pearl and never keep an eye off her. John took that advice and used it throughout the whole movie. Along with advice that John’s mother, Uncle, and step father all told him sticked with him and he protected his sister with everything no matter what and he never forgot or betrayed his family. The movie ends with everyone that’s good being happy where they are and John and Pearl are now in a safe family and a safe home.
